2011 sees a new partnership with The Children’s Museum, Seattle

July 27, 2011 - Seattle, WA – Bumbershoot: Seattle’s Music & Arts Festival, presents a unique opportunity for families to bond over live music, art and roasted corn. The event, which takes place September 3-5 at Seattle Center, offers free admission to children 10 and under (with a paid adult) so the entire family can together explore “Youngershoot”, a wide variety of kid-friendly programming within Bumbershoot that encompasses the Films4Families series, Book-It’s staging of “Where The Mountain Meets The Moon”, engaging spectacles such as Orkestar Zirkonium, creative visual arts offerings including The Magic Show, and, of course, energetic musical acts like The Presidents of the United States of America.
For the first time, The Children’s Museum, Seattle has curated engaging activities in the new Youngershoot Kids’ Zone, situated to the east of the Center House during Bumbershoot. Participating programmers include Pacific Science Center, EMP, Seattle Theatre Group (STG), ParentMap, Radio Disney and others. Access to the carefully programmed area, that will include both indoor and outdoor activities, is restricted to children aged 10 and under and their guardians, ensuring a safe and family-friendly environment.
