Where Imagination Comes Alive . . . Through Generosity!

As a non-profit organization, the Seattle Children's Museum depends on the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations to bring imagination alive for our visitors. We open our doors 357 days a year providing a place for families to play, learn and explore together.

We are located on the Seattle Center campus, however we are a separate 501c3 organization. Our budget relies on approximately 40% in contributions that span from individual giving, grants and a wide variety of in-kind donations of supplies and services.

It is because of those who give that we are able to:

  • Open our doors free of charge to low-income families.
  • Welcome local artists and performer in to the Museum.
  • Provide a safe, clean and educational place for children 10 months to 10 years and their families.

See below for information on our upcoming Donor Events. We want to see you, your family and your friends at these events! Contact Kirk Laughlin, Director of Advancement, to RSVP at 206.576.2340 or klaughlin@thechildrensmuseum.org.

Mission

Our mission is to bring to life the joy of discovery for children and their families through fun, creative, hands-on exploration of the world around them. We strive to ignite children's curiosity and encourage them to become active, life-long learners.

Ultimately, we strive to create a better world by investing in children so that they may become:

  • Global citizens who can better absorb, appreciate and act upon the needs of a changing world.
  • Active community members who see the value in working toward a common good.
  • Employee who use critical thinking, problem solving and adaptability to keep pace.
  • Family members and friends who seek the connection between fun and learning.
