A Communal Learning Space

Our Tribal Tales exhibit is the newest addition to our Global Village wing.  Developed in direct collaboration with native artists from Pacific Northwest tribes, Tribal Tales explores the cultural universality of storytelling through a collective showcase of Indigenous art and culture, curated by the artists themselves.

Learn about their Stories by…

Reading folktales around the communal fire
Retelling and creating new stories with Artist-crafted Hand Puppets
Discovering more about Puget Sound tribes at the Coast Salish Sea map
Meeting the Artists who contributed to the exhibit through their Artist Bios

Join us on Indigenous Peoples Day, October 13th from 10am-5pm to celebrate the opening of this new exhibit!  We will have free special programming all day long with the price of admission.

Families with valid Tribal ID will be granted free admission into the museum!
