Can we bring food into the Museum?
Yes. Snacks allowed inside the museum but we ask that you keep food out of the exhibits. There is eating space on the main level of the Center House that provides tables and chairs (including kid-sized!) for public use. We do have a "Bump and Burn Policy" that requires that hot drinks, such as coffee, be in a spill proof travel mug.
What ages of children will enjoy The Children's Museum, Seattle?
Our exhibits are designed for children from 10 months through 10 years of age. A specific area is set aside for our smallest visitors (3 and under). We also have special programs for children birth to 5 and children 6 - 10 years old. Learn more
Can I drop my kids off to play?
No, and there are two reasons why. First, the Museum is an educational facility and our goal is for the caregiver and child to explore the Museum programming and facilities together. Second, as a family fun destination and for everyone’s safety and enjoyment children must be with an adult caregiver during their visit to the Museum.
What is the cost of admission?
Admission is $7.50 for adults and $7.50 for children who have celebrated their first birthday. Grandparents are $6.50 and groups of 10 or more receive a $6.00 admission rate. Infants (under 1 year) are free. Children must be accompanied by an adult and a ratio of 1 adult to every 4 children is required.
What hours are you open?
We are open from 10am - 5pm on weekdays and 10am - 6pm on weekends. New admission sales end at 5pm on weekends.
Is there additional charge for daily programs or traveling exhibits?
Most of our programs are included with the cost of admission. Any program with an additional cost is noted on our programming calendar. Learn more
Where can we eat?
On a sunny day, enjoy a picnic by the International Fountain or walk upstairs for lunch in the food court.
Can we go out and come back in again?
Yes. A paid admission gives you in-and-out privileges all day. However, since we are an educational facility, with family fun and security at the center of our Mission, we assist our families in staying together. Therefore, adults must have a child with them to enter or re-enter the Museum.

Do any exhibits have age restrictions?
Our exhibits are open to kids of all ages. We do ask our guests to help us keep Discovery Bay a safe place for our littlest visitors by walking and giving priority to children under 3 years of age. For purposes of our rules, we define a child as being between the ages of birth and 10 years old.

Where can I leave my coat/stroller?
We have stroller parking and coat hooks available inside the Museum. The Museum is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
What is your security policy?
To keep our visitors safe we require all children to be accompanied by an adult. We also require that all adults be with a child (birth - 10) and we do not admit or re-admit adults without a child present. We also monitor the entrance and exit of the Museum.
Our Visitor Service Assistants monitor our exhibits making sure that visitors stay safe!
