Seattle, WA (May 25, 2011) - Understanding that dental decay is the most common chronic childhood disease, many organizations in the Puget Sound area are dedicating time and resources to early oral health initiatives. The Children’s Museum, Seattle in partnership with UW Pediatric Dentistry is offering opportunities for families to take the first step toward healthy teeth with I Love My Dentist Day on Thursday, June 2nd.
Local pediatric dentists will be onsite at the Museum from 11:00am – 3:30pm to provide free dental screenings and counsel parents about preparing for their children’s first (or second!) trip to the dentist. Tooth-takcular Story Times, toothy puppet making and toothbrush painting are just some of the activities planned throughout the day.
All activities are free with the cost of admission to the Museum, a $7.50 per person charge. The Museum also offers $1 admission to EBT/Quest cardholders as part of their Passport to Play Program, which works to make the Museum accessible to families at all income levels. Families can learn more about I Love My Dentist Day and other upcoming activities at the Museum by visiting www.thechildrensmuseum.org/calendar.
