Seattle, WA (May 23, 2011) – Seattle area children will have the opportunity pick a pen pal from across the US on Tuesday, May 31st at The Children’s Museum, Seattle. Letters written by kids at the Long Island Children’s Museum will be sent to the Museum this week, ready for responses.
As part of the Seattle Museum’s Discovery Days, Pen Pal Day visitors will have the opportunity to select a letter and respond to a child from the Long Island area. Letters will be categorizes by gender and age, allowing children to select a pen pal of a similar age. Children will also learn about the elements of a letter and addressing envelopes as part of the project.
Discovery Days at The Children’s Museum, Seattle run May 30 – Sept 2 and offer half day, full day and weeklong activities and camps for children ages 4 – 10. In addition, each day has themed activities for the Museum’s visitors, such as this Pen Pal activity. Families can learn more at www.thechildrensmuseum.org/summer
