  • National Rubber Ducky Day Celebration

    Seattle, WA (January 9, 2012) – The Children’s Museum, Seattle and Ride the Ducks of Seattle have partnered together to create a quack-tacular day on Friday, January 13th. An annual tradition for these two organizations, the Museum hosts a celebration of National Rubber Ducky Day with activities for kids 10 and under and their families. The day’s activities include a Ride the Ducks Parade with the famous duck quackers given out on tours by Ride the Ducks of Seattle.

    The Children’s Museum, Seattle will host hourly countdowns from around the globe Seattle, WA (December 21, 2011) – Looking for a creative way to celebrate the New Year? The Children’s Museum, Seattle has a solution for you and it will delight the young and young at heart. On December 31st, guests at the Museum can count down to the New Year every hour as 2012 arrives around the globe.

  • Free Admission Opportunity from a Food Drive

    Seattle, WA (November 8, 2011) – The Children’s Museum, Seattle is offering a free admission opportunity to kids who help collect non-perishable food items for the Queen Anne Helpline. Running this program for a 2nd year, the Museum encourages families to use this opportunity to teach about being generous as we move into the holiday season. On November 21 – 23, 2011, children with a donation of at least 2 non-perishable food items will receive free admission to the Museum.

  • Talk Like a Pirate At The Children's Museum, Seattle

    Seattle, WA (September 12, 2011) – Grab your eye patch and start practicing your best pirate snarl! The Children’s Museum, Seattle will be celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day on Sunday, September 18 and Monday, September 19 with activities for kids and a free admission opportunity. On Sunday and Monday, kids and their families can join in Pirate Parades, Pin the Parrot on the Pirate games, and scavenger hunts for gold coins.

  • The Children’s Museum, Seattle to Celebrate Father’s Day

    Seattle, WA (June 14, 2011) - The Children’s Museum, Seattle is encouraging dads to enjoy Father’s Day with their families by offering a free admission opportunity. Dads will be admitted free of charge to the Museum when they visit with their child (ages 10 and under). Programs throughout the day add to the 11 interactive indoor exhibits and plus an outdoor garden space, which are open for play from10am to 6pm.

    Seattle, WA (May 23, 2011) – Seattle area children will have the opportunity pick a pen pal from across the US on Tuesday, May 31st at The Children’s Museum, Seattle. Letters written by kids at the Long Island Children’s Museum will be sent to the Museum this week, ready for responses. As part of the Seattle Museum’s Discovery Days, Pen Pal Day visitors will have the opportunity to select a letter and respond to a child from the Long Island area.

  • Free Admission for Moms on Mother's Day

    Seattle, WA (May 2, 2011) - The Children’s Museum, Seattle is giving back to Puget Sound moms this weekend with free admission to mothers on Sunday, May 8, 2011. Moms will get the chance to spend their special day with the ones who are responsible for making it so special - their kiddos! Moms who visit the Museum with at least one child under the age of ten will be admitted free of charge for the entire day (*limit of one free admission per group or family).

  • Earth Day Celebration offers kid-sized fun

    Seattle Center Monorail and Children’s Museum Partnership Seattle, WA (April 14, 2011) – On Earth Day, Friday April 22nd, families have an opportunity to learn about conservation and a local energy-saving icon.   • The Children's Museum Opens Its Doors to Children with Autism

    Seattle, WA (April 2, 2011) – The Children’s Museum, Seattle opened its doors early Saturday morning to welcome families affected by autism to play and enjoy the Museum. Normally full of sounds and lights, the Museum dimmed their lights and turned off their sounds to create a quieter atmosphere for the visiting children. Sound and light sensitivities are especially challenging for children with autism and often restrict the locations children can visit and play.

  • The Children's Museum, Seattle welcomes their 5 Millionth Visitor

    Seattle, WA (March 24, 2010) – The Children’s Museum, Seattle welcomed their 5 Millionth visitor to the Museum on Thursday, March 24th. Five –year-old Teagan Leong and her family traveled from Vancouver, BC for a repeat visit to the Museum and were surprised by staff when they learned she was the 5 Millionth Visitor. “We had seen the signs mentioning the celebration, but never guessed it would be us!” said Jolie Leong, Teagan’s mother.

  • Light It Up Blue

    Seattle, WA (March 23, 2011) – The Children’s Museum, Seattle continues its preparations for a Light it Up Blue Ceremony on the morning of April 2, 2011 in partnership with Autism Speaks. The Museum will join buildings and organizations across the globe who turn their lights to blue between April 1st and 2nd to promote autism awareness.
