Meet our Educators!
If your little one is nervous about camp or has never been to the Museum before, virtually introduce them to our Camp Lead staff with this webpage! You can help to ease their nerves by reading to them about the staff and show them their picture.
Allison is currently studying at the University of Portland. She loved working Discovery Days Camps last summer so much that she is back for another year! Music is a big part of her life–she writes music and plays guitar and piano. She loves arts and crafts and therefore the imagination studio is her favorite part of the museum. Next year Allison will be studying abroad in Europe!
Devin loves to play so much she turned it into her career! As a graduate from the University of Washington’s Early Childhood and Family Studies program, she spent time teaching little ones in Seattle, Philadelphia, and Jamaica. When teaching wasn’t quite enough anymore, Devin got her MA in Museum Studies and became an Exhibit Developer! She loves building and brainstorming, cats, word games, and most of all, learning new things. Devin can’t wait to meet you!
Dulce graduated Magna Cum Laude Bachelor of Arts-Visual Design and Digital Media. She is from Los Angeles and is currently a Play Facilitator at SCM! She loves video games, music, arts and crafts and painting. It’s her dream to work on children’s animated movies. She would love to be a 3D modeler and animator!
Hanna has a degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. In Sociology. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, but grew up in San Antonio, Texas. She is joining the SCM Team as a Camp Aide this Summer! Hannah loves meeting new people. And fun fact: she was in a collegiate acapella group!
Jessica is a senior up at Western Washington University, studying to be a Community Health Educator. During her breaks, she comes to Seattle to work with us as a Play Facilitator. This will be her second summer working the summer camps. Her favorite part of camps is making arts and crafts to give to her mother, who also works at SCM! Outside of work and school, Jessica is an active political volunteer, coffee drinker, and pasta eater!”
Josie is currently getting her Master’s Degree in Special Education at UW, and has a Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Disorders, with two minors in ASL and Education. She grew up in California but have lived in Seattle for 5 years and she LOVES it here! In her free time she likes to swim, make baked goodies, do crafts, and play with her pet bunny, Timothy.
Laura is currently studying landscape architecture at the University of Washington. She is interested in a career that blends her passions for the natural environment and the human experience. Laura’s favorite part of camp is experiencing the wide range of art the campers create from their own imagination. When she is not with kiddos at the museum, Laura enjoys hiking and adding to her ever-growing collection of plants.
Mimi is a recent graduate from the University of Washington. She majored in Drama: Performance and Italian. She is a big Shakespeare and Chekhov fan. When she is not in the museum you can find her in theatre productions around Seattle. She started working at SCM with camps and decided to stick around. The Imagination Studio and SCM’s Bijou Theatre are her favorite places in the museum. What she enjoys most about working here is that everyone is like family.
Stefanie was an archaeology major that discovered she wasn’t a huge fan of digging, so she completed an anthropology degree at Western Washington University and stumbled her way into the museum field. Since then, she’s volunteered in a host of informal education settings and taught preschool. Working at the Seattle Children’s Museum has been a dream come true! When she’s not working with kids or getting lost on buses, Stefanie enjoys crocheting nerdy creatures and dancing.
