Promoting Health Teeth

The Children’s Museum partners with UW and Seattle Kids Dentistry

Seattle, WA (August 15,2011) – Helping your kids prepare for a visit to the dentist is getting a little easier. On August 22nd, The Children’s Museum, Seattle is celebrating Teeth Day with some help from their friends at the UW Center for Pediatric Dentistry and Seattle Kids Dentistry.

From 10am – 2pm, Dr. Purva Merchant and her team from Seattle Kids Dentistry will be at the Museum providing health teeth screenings and helping ease kids fears about a visit to the Dentist. The day also includes Tooth-tackular Storytimes and art projects using toothbrushes and dental floss. A visit from the Tooth Fairy is expected as well. Details of her expected arrival time will be posted on the Museum’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/thechildrensmuseum .

The UW Center for Pediatric Dentistry, supplying toothbrushes, toothpaste to give to families during this event, works hard to raise awareness of the importance of early oral health. Baby teeth ARE vulnerable to tooth decay. Left untreated, cavities can lead to infection, loss of teeth and expensive emergency room visits.
