Seattle, WA (March 24, 2010) – The Children’s Museum, Seattle welcomed their 5 Millionth visitor to the Museum on Thursday, March 24th. Five –year-old Teagan Leong and her family traveled from Vancouver, BC for a repeat visit to the Museum and were surprised by staff when they learned she was the 5 Millionth Visitor. “We had seen the signs mentioning the celebration, but never guessed it would be us!” said Jolie Leong, Teagan’s mother.
Joining the Museum for the celebration were Charles Paxton, Loryn Paxton and Revelle Dunlop, original founders of the Museum. In addition to helping hand a life time membership certificate and prizes to the 5 Millionth visitor, Charles Paxton reviewed the Museum’s original business plan with the current Executive Director, Donna Marie Bertrand. The original business strategy laid the plans for a Museum that is nearly the same size as the Museum is today. “What incredible future thinkers! They laid the ground work and had the passion to bring a place for children to play and learn for generations.” said Bertrand.
Also joining in the celebration was Samantha Paxton, the first child to enter The Children’s Museum, Seattle when it opened its doors and her grandparents, Lois and Earl Hazan. The Museum welcomes nearly 250,000 visitors to the Museum each year.
