Where is the Seattle Children's Museum?
We are located in the Armory on the Seattle Center Campus. If you look to the skyline and see the Space Needle, we are just 150 steps from the base.
Where can I park?
Parking is available on the side streets around the Seattle Center Campus and in the parking garages around campus.
Can we bring food into the Museum?
Yes; we just ask that you don’t eat inside the exhibits. There are tables upstairs in the Market Place, including kid-sized tables. Keep in mind that we do have a “Bump and Burn Policy” which requires that hot drinks, such as coffee, be in a spill-proof travel mug.
What ages of children will enjoy playing here?
We focus on activities for kids ages 10 months through 10 years. A specific area is set aside for our smallest visitors (3 and under). We also have special programs for children birth to 5 and children 6 to 10 years old.
Can the kids play all day?
The length of your visit depends on your little one. Some kids find themselves absorbed for hours, while others like to keep moving! Your admission price is for all day, and you have in and out privileges. Take a break for lunch or a stroll around International Fountain and then return for more play! You day could include spending 20 minutes in an educational program, spending 5 to 20 minutes in each exhibit, spending 25 minutes in our Imagination Studio, spending 20 minutes outside exploring International Fountain, and spending 20 minutes in our noon Story Time.
Can I drop my kids off to play?
No, and there are two reasons why. First, we are an educational facility, and our goal is for the caregiver and child to explore the Museum programming and facilities together. Second, as a family fun destination, for everyone’s safety and enjoyment children must be with an adult caregiver at all times during their visit.
Do you have an adult to child ratio?
We do. We require a ratio of 1 adult to 4 children. Groups that book ahead and complete an orientation may be permitted to have larger ratios.
What hours are you open?
We are open from 10am – 5pm on weekdays and 10am – 6pm on weekends. New admission sales end at 5pm on weekends.
Is there additional charge for daily programs or traveling exhibits?
Most of our programs are included with the cost of admission. Any program with an additional cost is noted on our programming calendar.
Are there places to eat inside the Museum?
We don’t have a cafe inside the Museum, but in the Market Place just above the Museum there are a number of quick-service restaurants from which to choose.
Can we go out and come back in again?
Yes, your paid admission gives you in-and-out privileges all day. Please keep in mind that you do need to stay together as a family. For security reasons, we don’t allow adults to enter or re-enter without a child.

Do any exhibits have age restrictions?
Our exhibits are open to kids of all ages but are designed for kids 10 and under. We do ask our guests to help us keep Discovery Bay a safe place for our littlest visitors by walking and giving priority to children under 3 years of age.
Where can I leave my coat/stroller?
We have stroller parking and coat hooks available inside. The Museum is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
What is your security policy?
To keep our visitors safe we require all children to be accompanied by an adult at all times. We also require that all adults be with a child (birth – 10), and we do not admit or re-admit adults without a child present. We also monitor the entrance and exit of the Museum. Our Visitor Service Assistants monitor our exhibits to make sure that visitors stay safe!
