Are you looking for a great way to engage with your community? Share your skills? Or encourage families and children? Then volunteering at The Children's Museum, Seattle is for you!
We are currently seeking volunteers who are interested in volunteering a minimum of once a month for a 2 or 4 hour shift. Volunteer opportunities give the chance to work inside our exhibits, interact with visitors, help with repairs or improvements to exhibits and much more. We work hard to match your skills and talents with the needs of the Museum.
What volunteer opportunities are available to me?
We want all of our volunteers to spend some time as a Visitor Service Assistant so that you learn about the exhibits and activities that happen on the Museum floor.
What if I have a specific trade or talent I wish to volunteer?
Learning more about you is part of our interview process. We will do your best to match your skills directly with museum projects. If we don’t have a current project that matches your skill we will keep your information on file and contact you when an opportunity comes available.
Can I still volunteer if I am not 18?
Yes, you will need to fill out the Minor Release Form and have your parents or legal guardian sign it. Individuals must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer unless accompanied by an adult guardian that is also an approved volunteer.
What is the time commitment?
Volunteers must be able to commit to a regular volunteer time (weekly or monthly) and we prefer that you are available for 3 - 4 hour timeslots. Our time ranges vary, so let us know when you are available.
What happens if I'm not able to volunteer every week/month?
We understand that you may need to arrange to miss a week/month of volunteering occasionally. However, for consistency for our staff and visitors, we ask that you are able to volunteer at the same time each week/month on a regular basis.
