What could be more fun than a week of FUNdamental Physics? With 18,000 square feet of Museum to explore and experiment with, you’ll come away with some one-of-a-kind projects and experiences!

February 18-22

Monday: Hit the Brakes

Friction & Collision

The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and STOP! Explore the ways friction slows us down and what happens when you don’t stop in time. Bring astronauts safely back through the atmosphere and create a soft landing for a falling egg. Can you survive this journey full of friction and collisions?

Tuesday: Sink and Float

Density & Buoyancy

Row, row, row your boat–but first, you have to make it float! Learn why some things float and others sink as we dive into density and buoyancy.

Wednesday: Uneven Composition

Balance & Stability

Ashes, ashes, we all fall down…or NOT, if you can keep your balance on this day of tumbling. London Bridge is falling down…or NOT, if you can build a structure strong enough to withstand the forces of nature. Test your creations and become masters of balance and stability.

Thursday: Up and Down

Gravity and Flight

I believe I can fly! I believe your airplane can touch the sky! But how? We’ll find out as we learn about gravity and aerodynamics.

Friday: Zip, Zap, Zop!

Electricity and Robotics

It’s electric! (Boogie-woogie-woogie.) We’ll teach you, teach you, teach you; we’ll teach you about electrical circuits! Then we’ll program some robots to do the “electric slide” through a maze. Tap into your inner power and unlock the secrets of electricity and beginning robotics.
