Seattle deserves a great Children’s Museum!

Now more than ever, kids and families need a wonderful place to play, learn, and spend time together. We want to make the Seattle Children’s Museum the best it can be, and we need your help. Together we can welcome our visitors, support our communities, engage our neighborhoods, and team with our partners. We will create a clear pathway toward an open, thriving, resilient children’s museum. We will strive to be The Children’s Museum FOR Seattle.

Help us learn: what should a Children’s Museum FOR Seattle look like? Tell us HERE.

Where we’ve been and where we are going:

  • 2020 brought its forces to bear on an already-struggling entity
  • 2021 showed the cracks, forcing a rethinking, and an atonement
  • 2022 will show our first efforts at repair, renewal, reawakening
  • 2023-24 will see the re-emergence of The Children’s Museum FOR Seattle
  • 2025-26 will allow us to create a plan for the museum’s next steps – designing for the future

This is an organization with a forty year history of engaging Seattle’s kids. We will work with the community to determine what the next forty years should look like for this important place.
