The Trustees on this governing board play an important role in advancing our organizational mission, advising the leadership team, and raising funds for future development. We are looking to expand the Board with experienced and passionate individuals.

Board of Trustees’ Mission Statement
Seattle Children’s Museum Board of Trustees’ mission is to support the organization through fund-raising and governance activities. Governing activities assures necessary compliance, as well as effective management of all SCM resources. Trustee fund-raising activities include community awareness of SCM programs at the Museum and within the community. Additionally each Trustee provides personal resources, as well as solicits community resources, in support of SCM’s mission delivery.
- One, two, or three year terms
- Attend 2 hour meetings at Museum, six times a year
- Solicit funds and attendance for two events a year
- Attend annual board planning day, local, 6 hours
- Serve on a committee or task force
- Personally give financially
- Previous board experience a plus

Auxiliary Council’s Mission Statement
Seattle Children’s Museum’s Auxiliary Council’s mission is to support the Board of Trustees in their fundraising activities. An Auxiliary Council member’s activities include raising community awareness of SCM programs at the Museum and within the community. Additionally each Auxiliary Council member provides personal resources, as well as solicit community resources, especially volunteerism, in support of SCM’s mission delivery.
- No term structure for members; one year terms available for leadership positions
- Attend 2 hour meetings at Museum, six times a year
- Solicit friends to attend Museum’s annual friend-raising event
- Solicit in-donations for Museum’s annual friend-raising event
- Attend annual Board Planning day, local, 6 hours
