Come “see” our new Eye Clinic
Open now at Seattle Children’s Museum, this child size clinic is designed to help kids become more comfortable with going to the eye doctor as well as learn more about eye health and safety. Sponsored by the Optometric Physicians of Washington, Healthy Eyes Healthy People and Luxottica, the eye clinic is just one more way that imagination can come alive every day here at Seattle Children’s Museum.
Reception Desk: Visitors can check-in, using icons, fill out the patient information, including any current symptoms. The Dr. will be there to help you shortly!
While You Wait: Play with our stacking alphabet blocks, and understand a little bit more about braille, the system of raised dots used to communicate written language.
Testing, A, B, C: Visitors can practice being both patient and doctor using our new patient chair, phoropter with lenses, and other tools.
At the research desk: learn about the components of the eye, take a test for color blindness and visual acuity. Check out what’s going on within a “near” or “far” sighted, and “normal” eye.
Looking Good: Pretend to shop for your favorite pair of eyewear! SCM’s Eye Clinic has a new selection of glasses on display, and to try on.
